The 35th SSEAYP will be held from 21 October to 11 December 2008. During this period, the participants will visit six of the ten ASEAN countries, namely Brunei (Muara), Indonesia (Jakarta), Thailand (Bangkok), Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City), Philippines (Manila), Cambodia (Phnom Penh) and Japan. The activities on board the ship and at each port-of-call include discussions on current social issues, cultural performances, sports, homestays, city tours and institutional visits. The National Youth Council has highlighted the following conditions, amongst others, for participation:
a) Excluding personal expenses, each participant would be required to contribute at least $900 (excluding 7% GST) to the SSEAYP contingent fund.
b) In addition, all participants are required to undergo a two-month orientation programme, which includes weekend and two weekday evening training sessions per week. The orientation programme is tentatively scheduled from July to August 2008.
God should I go for it??? 52Days!!! It is a life time experience but all my leave will be burn off...
